Jacobs Field Services North America Wins $45 Million USACE Contract for Cleanup at New Bedford Harbor

Jacobs Field Services North America, Inc. of Oak Ridge, Tennessee has won an interim remedial action contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New England District for work on the New Bedford Harbor Superfund Site in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Jacobs will help EPA clean up PCB-contaminated sediments in the harbor. Contamination occurred over decades, as two electrical capacitor manufacturing plants dumped their PCB waste into the water.

The sole source indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract is worth $45 million. It will provide one additional dredging season in the harbor. The award will act as a bridge contract to allow dredging to continue while a new contract for harbor cleanup is put in place.
