FGD and DeNOx Knowledge System Has the Latest Technology and Commercial Developments

The FGD & DeNOx Newsletter and Directory are included in the FGD World Markets and in NOx Control World Markets, but the package is also available separately. Note that Alstom is now offering a modular dry injection acid gas capture system.  This low capital cost approach is in considerable contrast to the high capital cost limestone scrubber which has been typically used in power plants. Alstom is catering to the interest for minimizing investment even if operating costs will be high.  The REACT system covered in the next article is at the other end of the spectrum.  It achieves extremely high efficiency removal of both gases and particles.  But cost is a concern.

The Chinese are implementing tough new regulations and will have more FGD and DeNOx systems installed than most other countries combined.

The DeNOx options for simple cycle gas turbines include high temperature catalyst or low temperature with tempering air. Each has advantages.  Here are the newsletter headlines from the November issue.
