Chinese Companies to Finance Construction of 10 Power Plants in Iran

 

Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Mohammed Behzad said on Friday that Chinese companies will finance construction of 10 Iranian power plants for 74 months, Trend reports. A Chinese company has invested $500 million in construction of a coal-fired power plant in Tabas (central Iran) producing 650 MW. Iran may export 10,000 MW/h to neighboring states, as it is trying to become a large regional exporter of electricity and invited over $1.1 billion in investments for construction of three new power plants. Iran supplies Azerbaijan, Turkey, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq with electricity.
