ABSTRACT: Potential Solutions for Mercury Control in the Cement Industry

Cement kilns have been left with limited options with the option most often presented being the addition of an expensive additional control device, such as a baghouse, after the flue gas exits from the existing plant.  Albemarle Sorbent Technologies has developed and is testing a concept to utilize the existing particulate control device already in operation at the facility in conjunction with the concrete-friendly™ mercury sorbent C-PAC™ to comply with the proposed Cement Kiln MACT.
