GEA Is a Leader in Scrubber Sales for Cement Plants

GEA emission control has sold a number of wet scrubbers using a concrete vessel construction for use in cement plants.  Several are installed in the U.S.  The company is supplying emission control equipment to industrial plants around the world.  Some readers may be familiar with the predecessor company, Bischoff.  There is a market for scrubbers in the U.S. to remove both acid gases and mercury from cement operations.

Dundee Sarea Acquires Redecam Group S.r.l.

Dundee Sarea, a special situations focused private equity firm, has acquired a majority stake in Milan, Italy based Redecam Group S.r.l. (“Redecam”) in partnership with the company’s founder and chairman, Mr. Giuseppe Bettoni. Redecam is a global provider of highly engineered air filtration and gas treatment solutions for the cement, power generation and waste-to-energy industries.

“Founded in 1984, the company has historically generated significant repeat business from the majority of multi-national cement producers and, as a result, has a very globally diverse sales base with over 95 percent of revenues generated outside of Italy and over 80 percent outside of Europe,” said Sam Ramadori, Managing Partner of Dundee Sarea. “The key to Redecam’s success has been its unique filtration technologies that allow it to provide retrofit solutions to existing filtration equipment at a lower cost and higher performance level than its competitors that typically sell more expensive “new equipment only” solutions.”

“In Dundee Sarea we found not only a partner who understood the advantages of our air filtration technology and the long-term potential of the air treatment market,” said Mr. Bettoni, “but also a partner who will be able to support us as we expand internationally into new markets and new product segments.”

"We have a specific focus on the manufacturing sector and we have only recently begun to approach the North American market,” said Barry Downing, Managing Partner of Dundee Sarea. “In partnership with Redecam Group’s senior management team, we see the opportunity to grow sales significantly through the development of new product lines, and after-sales services along with spare parts.   We look forward to working with the Redecam team to develop the company into a multi-line air filtration and flue gas treatment solution provider, both organically and through add-on acquisitions."

Redecam Group, based in Milan, Italy, is a global leader in the design, fabrication and installation of air filtration equipment, flue gas treatment and conditioning system solutions for the heavy industry and energy sectors. The company provides a comprehensive range of products, including fabric filters, electro-static precipitators, heat exchangers and flue gas desulfurization equipment. In addition to providing new equipment solutions, the company has developed a unique expertise in improving the performance and reliability of existing installations, providing customers with higher emissions control performance at a lower capital investment relative to new build solutions.  In the last 15 years the company has provided custom filtration solutions to over 200 customers in approximately 450 locations across 75 countries.
